Energy baseline programme for a Midlands pharma manufacturing estate
Client: Major UK pharmaceutical organisation (anonymised at the client's request)
The brief
A three-site pharma manufacturing estate where the energy reporting pipeline had to satisfy a new board-level sustainability mandate without breaching GMP-validation constraints on the production-side control systems. The constraint shaped the scope: nothing touching validated equipment could be re-engineered; the energy data layer had to be built around it.
Our scope
- EMS canonicalisation across the three sites with sub-hourly capture and a published data lineage.
- Read-only EPMS integration into the corporate reporting stack.
- Quarterly board-pack template generated automatically from the EMS feed.
- Audit pack proving the reporting pipeline does not touch the validated production envelope.
Outcome
First board pack delivered to schedule. Three years of consistent quarterly reporting since, with zero production-side incidents attributable to the energy reporting layer.
